Dr Offerini
When Dr. J. M Offerini saw the CT scan in November, he said something to me along these lines: “I’m booking surgeries for next April, you won’t make it till then. I’ll need to rearrange my schedule so I can remove that kidney ASAP.” Stage 3 cancer, caught before spreading with laparoscopic surgery at the end of December! A New Year’s gift, to a new post-cancerous life. Too wonderful!
Last year’s treatments were not my first experience at St. Boniface Hospital. Not only was I born there, my three daughters made their arrivals there too. We’ve had various treatments, my late husband had pacemakers and defibrillator. In 2023 my heart needed a pacemaker too. The super-powers-that -can-be that surround us all are at work, keeping medically trained, experienced and all gifted people working, supporting and caring for patients. I’m almost 88 years old, on medically-enhanced overtime, enjoying mobility of several artificial joints, and still be able to enjoy life. I give many thanks daily.
