May 19, 2023

St. Boniface Hospital Foundation has once again earned accreditation under Imagine Canada’s national Standards Program, demonstrating its continued commitment to excellence.

Imagine Canada, a national organization committed to strengthening Canada’s charitable sector, welcomed the latest group of accredited nonprofits to its Standards Program. A cohort of 17 nonprofits successfully completed the accreditation process, joining the growing community of 270 organizations across the country committed to accountability, governance, transparency, and best practices.

St. Boniface Hospital Foundation was among 13 organizations that successfully completed their re-accreditation.

“The trust of our donors is essential in order for us to fulfill our mission,” said Karen Fowler, President and CEO, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. “Imagine Canada’s Standards Program provides a valuable framework for us to demonstrate our effectiveness and accountability in supporting patient care and research at St. Boniface Hospital.”

“We are proud to re-earn our Standards Program accreditation, a standing we’ve held since 2016,” said Fowler. “Congratulations to all the newly accredited and re-accredited organizations.”

The Standards Program provides guidance to organizations of all sizes and causes to enhance their governance and practices. Recognition through Imagine Canada’s national Standards Program is a public demonstration of St. Boniface Hospital Foundation’s credibility and transparency.

To earn the accreditation, organizations must demonstrate excellence in five fundamental areas: board governance; financial accountability and transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement. The Trustmark is a sought-after symbol of trust and excellence within the sector for funders, donors, sponsors, and supporters alike.
